Ip.Glass Fortinet Baiada Poultry network resilience deployment

Ip.Glass and Fortinet strengthen Baiada Poultry’s ‘paddock to plate’ network resilience

Ip.Glass Fortinet Baiada Poultry network resilience initiatives are helping strengthen operational continuity, cybersecurity visibility, and infrastructure stability across Australia’s poultry supply chain. Ip.Glass and Fortinet modernised Baiada Poultry’s national network infrastructure to support secure, resilient, and scalable operations across breeding farms, feed mills, processing plants, and distribution facilities.

Baiada Poultry is one of Australia’s largest poultry producers. The company operates around the clock. Even minutes of downtime can disrupt production, logistics, and supply continuity across farms, feed mills, processing plants, and distribution sites.

To support its high-speed operations and long-term growth strategy, Baiada Poultry engaged Ip.Glass and Fortinet to design and implement a resilient, scalable, and secure network platform.

Wayne Ellison, CIO at Baiada Poultry, said the organisation needed technology partners that could respond quickly and understand the realities of industrial operations.

“Baiada Poultry is a seconds and minutes business; continuity of supply is everything to us. We need a partner that can move quickly, understand our operations, and deliver technology that will stand up to harsh operational environments. Ip.Glass has the agility, speed, and expertise to help us achieve that.”

First, the project focused on network segmentation. This helped isolate critical systems and improve operational continuity.

Next, Baiada Poultry expanded the project into a broader network modernisation program that included:

  • Fortinet Secure SD-WAN deployment
  • Next-generation firewalls
  • Upgraded switching infrastructure
  • Wireless network refreshes
  • Enhanced IT and operational technology (OT) support

Fortinet Security Fabric strengthens Baiada Poultry network resilience

As a result, Baiada Poultry unified its firewall, SD-WAN, switching, and wireless infrastructure through the Fortinet Security Fabric.

The deployment also added FortiAnalyzer security operations capabilities. Consequently, Baiada Poultry improved network visibility. The team also shifted from reactive troubleshooting to proactive monitoring and optimisation.

Importantly, the solution also improves cyber resilience. It strengthens Baiada Poultry’s ability to segment networks during a cyber incident.

John Saba, Head of IT Infrastructure at Baiada Poultry, said the partnership reduced pressure on internal teams while improving operational oversight.

“Ip.Glass understands Baiada Poultry’s environment and works with us to recommend the right solutions. Together with Fortinet, Ip.Glass helped us reduce management overheads and pressure on our small team while giving us greater control and visibility across the network to prevent any possible downtime.”

Ip.Glass improves Baiada Poultry operational resilience

Semyon Taskin, Managing Director at Ip.Glass, said the project succeeded because of the close operational partnership between the organisations.

“The success of the project reflects a deep, collaborative partnership built on operational understanding rather than a transactional approach. Baiada Poultry’s business is complex, fast moving, and unforgiving of downtime.”

Taskin added that spending time onsite helped the team design infrastructure capable of supporting future automation, innovation, and growth initiatives.

Fortinet supports Baiada Poultry supply chain resilience

John Milionis, Director of Channel and Distribution ANZ at Fortinet, said resilient and visible infrastructure has become critical for organisations operating complex supply chains.

“Organisations like Baiada Poultry operate in highly time-sensitive environments where resilience, visibility, and control are critical to maintaining continuity across complex supply chains.”

He added that strong collaboration between technology partners helps organisations simplify operations, improve cybersecurity posture, and support ongoing digital transformation across IT and OT environments.

Baiada Poultry expands OT security and network resilience

With major expansion projects already underway, including automated facilities and new processing capabilities, Baiada Poultry plans to continue building on its modernised network foundation.

The company is also exploring additional investments in OT security, visibility, and operational resilience as cyber threats continue targeting critical infrastructure and industrial operations.

The Ip.Glass Fortinet Baiada Poultry network resilience project highlights how Australian organisations are modernising critical infrastructure to reduce downtime risks, improve OT security visibility, and strengthen cybersecurity operations across complex supply chains.
