LevelBlue Launches Sydney SOC to Strengthen Australian Critical Infrastructure
Multi-million-dollar investment combines local security analysts with global threat intelligence and 24/7 operations.
SYDNEY, Australia – August 27, 2026 – LevelBlue has launched a new local Security Operations Centre in Sydney as part of a multi-million-dollar investment in Australian cybersecurity.
The LevelBlue Sydney SOC will support Australian organisations, with a particular focus on critical infrastructure owners and operators. It combines onshore security analysts, local escalation pathways and Australian regulatory expertise with LevelBlue’s global threat intelligence and 24/7 security operations.
The investment aims to give organisations faster access to local security expertise while retaining the visibility and resources of LevelBlue’s international security network.
LevelBlue Sydney SOC Targets Critical Infrastructure Cyber Risk
Australia’s critical infrastructure organisations face growing pressure to identify cyber risks, respond quickly to incidents and meet their obligations under the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (SOCI Act).
Applicable entities may need to report critical cyber incidents within 12 hours and other cyber incidents within 72 hours. Certain entities must also adopt, maintain and comply with a written Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program.
At the same time, organisations need greater access to local cybersecurity expertise. Clear escalation pathways and security support aligned with Australian operating hours have also become increasingly important.
LevelBlue’s Sydney SOC addresses these requirements by combining local analysts and market knowledge with global security operations.
The model is designed to help critical infrastructure organisations strengthen cyber resilience and support broader SOCI Act and Essential Eight initiatives. Organisations can also maintain access to global threat visibility and round-the-clock security coverage.
“Australian organisations want a security partner that understands the local regulatory environment and can quickly escalate when an incident occurs,” said Jo Salisbury, Regional Director Growth & Performance – APAC, LevelBlue. “Geopolitical tensions are intensifying the threat landscape, and our Sydney SOC gives Australian organisations access to local analysts and context, together with global threat intelligence and 24/7 coverage that critical infrastructure operators need to manage risk, support their SOCI obligations, and strengthen cyber resilience.”
Sydney SOC Expands LevelBlue’s Five Eyes Security Operations
The new facility expands LevelBlue’s security operations presence within the Five Eyes region. It also strengthens the company’s ability to deliver locally supported security services to Australian organisations.
Those services draw on LevelBlue’s global threat intelligence, telemetry and security expertise while providing Australian organisations with local support and escalation.
“This investment reflects LevelBlue’s commitment to the Australian market and the critical infrastructure sector,” said Allison Clelan, Senior Vice President, Managed Global Security Solutions, LevelBlue. “As a vendor-agnostic MSSP, we bring local delivery and global scale together to help clients strengthen resilience while retaining greater choice and flexibility across their security environments.”
What the LevelBlue Sydney SOC Provides
The Sydney SOC provides:
- Australia-based SOC operations staffed by local analysts
- Seamless 24/7 coverage through LevelBlue’s global SOC network
- Local contacts and clearly defined escalation pathways
- Threat intelligence applied by local and global security teams
- Broader threat visibility drawn from LevelBlue’s global telemetry
- Vendor-agnostic managed security services for critical infrastructure, state and local government, regulated enterprises and mid-market organisations
Melbourne Airport Becomes First Organisation to Transition
Melbourne Airport has become the first organisation to transition to LevelBlue’s Australian SOC.
“As a LevelBlue customer for six years, we have consistently valued the strength and reliability of our partnership. We are proud to be the first organisation to transition to LevelBlue’s Australian SOC, giving us greater access to local expertise and escalation backed by LevelBlue’s global intelligence and expertise,” said Anthony Tomai, Melbourne Airport Chief Information Officer. “For Melbourne Airport, this local capability strengthens our ability to manage cyber risk and support our obligations under the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act. It is exactly the kind of investment Australian critical infrastructure needs from a trusted security partner.”
LevelBlue Sydney SOC Supports SOCI Act Requirements
The SOCI Act requires applicable critical infrastructure entities to embed risk management, preparedness and resilience into their operations.
LevelBlue supports these efforts through continuous monitoring, local escalation, threat intelligence and incident response capabilities.
The company can also help organisations strengthen their Essential Eight maturity as part of a broader cyber resilience strategy. However, the Essential Eight complements an organisation’s SOCI obligations rather than replacing them.
Local Cybersecurity Demand Continues to Grow
Demand for local cybersecurity capability continues to increase across Australia and New Zealand.
Regulatory obligations, scrutiny of operational and third-party risk, evolving data-handling expectations and a persistent cybersecurity skills shortage are contributing to that demand.
The LevelBlue Sydney SOC expands access to local capability for critical infrastructure organisations. It will also support other public and private-sector organisations across the region.
