AXIS D2124-VE Radar Delivers AI-Powered 360-Degree Area Protection Around The Clock
Axis Communications, a global leader in video surveillance, has announced the upcoming launch of the AXIS D2124-VE Radar at the Security Exhibition and Conference 2026, held at ICC Sydney from September 2 to 4.
The AXIS D2124-VE Radar combines artificial intelligence-powered object classification with 360-degree surveillance across large areas. It operates around the clock in varying weather and lighting conditions.
The radar can detect humans at distances of up to 140 metres (460 feet). It also provides a human recognition zone covering 40,000 square metres (430,000 square feet).

The upcoming AXIS D2124-VE Radar uses box-shaped detection and recognition zones to simplify surveillance coverage planning.
Axis has built the device on its ARTPEC-9 platform. Organisations can pair the radar with the AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera to extend surveillance capabilities across large sites.
This combination supports visual and radar double-knock verification through AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ. The technology allows the radar and video system to confirm detections before an alarm is sent.
As a result, security teams can reduce false alarms and automate visual verification without requiring continuous human oversight.
AXIS D2124-VE Radar Combines Radar And Video Verification
Users can access enriched information from both the radar and PTZ camera to support security decisions.
The AXIS D2124-VE Radar also includes four integrated dynamic LED strips. Organisations can configure the lights to deter, warn or notify people within a monitored area. They can also switch the lights off when discreet surveillance is required.

AXIS D2124-VE Radar Supports Energy-Efficient Surveillance
Despite its extensive coverage, the AXIS D2124-VE Radar has an average power draw of 14.8 W across its full detection area.
The energy-efficient design makes the radar suitable for off-grid environments and mobile surveillance trailers where power availability can be limited.
The device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). PoE out can also power an AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera when organisations use an Axis high PoE 120 W midspan. This configuration removes the need for an additional cable drop.
AXIS D2124-VE Radar Designed For Challenging Environments
Organisations can mount the AXIS D2124-VE Radar on sturdy poles, mobile surveillance trailers or rooftops to provide complete 360-degree coverage.
Built-in radar image stabilisation improves detection accuracy when vibrations affect the device. This feature makes the radar suitable for installations exposed to wind or other movement.
The system targets perimeter and area protection requirements across critical infrastructure, industrial facilities and remote sites.
