Sumo Logic Names Tom Bonos Chief Revenue Officer To Drive AI-First Growth
Sumo Logic has named Tom Bonos as Chief Revenue Officer, putting the experienced technology executive in charge of global sales and customer success as the company expands its AI-first security and observability platform.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Sept 1, 2026 — Sumo Logic, the Intelligent Operations Platform, has appointed Tom Bonos as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).
As Sumo Logic Chief Revenue Officer, Bonos will lead the company’s global sales and customer success organisations. His focus will include helping customers evolve their businesses for AI innovation while maintaining reliability and security.
The appointment comes as security and cloud operations teams move beyond AI experimentation. Organisations are increasingly looking to deploy agentic AI across mission-critical and telemetry-intensive workflows.
Sumo Logic aims to support that transition through its Dojo AI platform. The platform turns large volumes of telemetry into trusted context and actionable intelligence for AI-powered security and operations.
Sumo Logic Chief Revenue Officer To Support AI Growth
Sumo Logic CEO Chris Malone said Bonos will play an important role as customers look to use AI agents across security and operational workflows.
“We empower customers to translate telemetry into trusted, AI-ready data, fueling autonomous AI agents so our customers can investigate and resolve issues,” said Chris Malone, CEO of Sumo Logic. “Tom has built his career working with customers to achieve business results, and his leadership will be critical as we help customers shift work to agents, improving security and performance outcomes while reducing costs.
The company says it has already seen measurable results from autonomous agents inside its own Security Operations Center (SOC).
According to Sumo Logic, its AI-powered approach has reduced mean time to resolution (MTTR) by nearly 65%. The technology has also returned more than 25 hours each week to security analysts.
Bonos and his team will now work with customers seeking similar security and operational improvements across their environments.
Tom Bonos Brings Enterprise Technology Experience To Sumo Logic
Before becoming Sumo Logic Chief Revenue Officer, Bonos served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Revenue Officer at Applause.
He previously held senior global sales positions at ServiceSource, Oracle, and SAP. That experience gives Bonos a background in enterprise technology sales and customer growth as Sumo Logic expands its AI-first platform.
Bonos said organisations are becoming more discerning about AI products and the data foundations that support them.
“Customers can see through companies selling AI agents without the underlying data foundation,” said Bonos. “Sumo Logic has a powerful advantage: the telemetry, context and intelligence required to make agents useful, trustworthy and accountable in complex enterprise environments. I’m excited to work alongside our customers and teams around the world to turn that advantage into meaningful results for our customers and partners.”
Sumo Logic Chief Revenue Officer Joins As Agentic AI Adoption Expands
The appointment of Tom Bonos comes as Sumo Logic positions telemetry as a foundation for enterprise agentic AI.
Security and observability platforms collect extensive operational data from applications, infrastructure, cloud environments and security systems. Sumo Logic argues that this telemetry can provide AI agents with the context needed to investigate incidents and support reliable decision-making.
For security teams, the challenge extends beyond deploying AI models. Organisations also need trusted data, appropriate context and accountable processes before autonomous agents can take on sensitive operational tasks.
Sumo Logic combines agentic AI-powered SIEM and log analytics through its Intelligent Operations Platform. The company says this approach can help teams detect, investigate and resolve security and operational issues while managing increasingly complex digital environments.
