Fortinet Expands FortiEndpoint AI Security Platform For The AI Era
Fortinet has expanded FortiEndpoint AI security with new capabilities that help organisations securely adopt artificial intelligence. The platform also strengthens endpoint protection, improves data security, and simplifies security operations. The latest enhancements bring AI governance, native data loss prevention (DLP), endpoint risk scoring, and FortiAI-assisted operations together through a single agent, one management console, and one licence.
The announcement reflects the growing need to manage AI adoption without increasing operational complexity. Employees are using AI-powered applications and autonomous agents more frequently. Security teams therefore need greater visibility into AI usage while protecting sensitive data and enforcing consistent security policies.
FortiEndpoint AI Security Brings A Unified Platform
Fortinet continues its platform consolidation strategy by integrating AI visibility, endpoint protection, detection and response, secure remote access, native DLP, and AI-assisted administration into FortiEndpoint AI security.
FortiEndpoint builds on the consolidation strategy previewed at Fortinet Accelerate 2026. It brings AI visibility and governance, endpoint protection, detection and response, secure remote access, native data security, and FortiAI-assisted operations together through a single agent, a single console, and a single licence.
The platform also integrates with the Fortinet Security Fabric. This allows endpoint telemetry and risk context to strengthen adaptive access controls, improve enterprise-wide visibility, and support consistent policy enforcement across distributed environments.
Michael Xie, Founder, President, and CTO at Fortinet, said:
“Organisations need a simpler and more effective way to manage security as their environments become more complex and AI-enabled. The Fortinet Security Fabric is designed to converge critical security and networking functions across the enterprise, helping customers reduce complexity, improve visibility, and strengthen protection. With FortiEndpoint, we are extending that strategy by consolidating security, secure access, data security, AI visibility, and assisted operations in a unified endpoint platform, delivered through one agent, one console, and one license.”
FortiEndpoint AI Security Improves AI Visibility And Governance
AI-powered applications are becoming part of everyday business operations. However, they also introduce new risks through shadow AI, unsanctioned applications, and unmanaged AI agents. These needs are even more urgent as threat actors move faster and use increasingly sophisticated techniques to exploit gaps across users, devices, applications, and data.
FortiEndpoint AI security gives organisations centralised visibility into approved and unapproved AI applications. It also monitors installed AI agents and web-based AI tools. Security teams can monitor adoption, identify unauthorised usage, and understand employee activity from a single management interface.
Administrators can also apply detailed guardrail policies that allow, restrict, monitor, or block AI applications based on corporate security, compliance, and data protection requirements.
This approach enables organisations to encourage responsible AI adoption while reducing the risk of policy violations and uncontrolled AI usage.
FortiEndpoint AI Security Reduces AI Data Exposure
The latest release also introduces native Data Loss Prevention (DLP) directly into the endpoint platform.
The integrated DLP capability automatically inspects sensitive information exchanged with AI applications. It also protects interactions with AI agents and AI-powered web services. It helps prevent the accidental exposure of personally identifiable information (PII), intellectual property, and financial data.
Fortinet has also added real-time user coaching that provides immediate policy guidance whenever employees attempt actions that could expose sensitive information.
By embedding DLP into FortiEndpoint AI security, organisations can strengthen compliance while avoiding the complexity of deploying separate security products.
FortiEndpoint AI Security Adds FortiAI-Assisted Operations
FortiAI-Assist is now built directly into FortiEndpoint to streamline daily security operations.
Security analysts can use natural language to investigate incidents, generate investigation summaries, identify high-risk endpoints, visualise findings, and troubleshoot issues more efficiently.
FortiAI-Assist also provides contextual recommendations, policy guidance, and risk insights that help security teams prioritise threats, improve governance, and accelerate threat hunting activities.
FortiEndpoint AI Security Supports Adaptive Zero Trust
The platform also introduces adaptive Zero Trust capabilities based on continuous endpoint risk and compliance scoring.
FortiEndpoint AI security continuously evaluates endpoint health and compliance status. It then helps organisations make access decisions using real-time risk assessments. Access to AI applications and protected resources can automatically adjust as device risk changes.
This helps reduce organisational exposure while maintaining consistent security policies across users and devices.
Industry analysts believe this integrated approach addresses an increasingly important enterprise requirement.
Chris DePuy, Technology Analyst at 650 Group, said:
“Fortinet is addressing what many CISOs need now: visibility into AI usage, control over sanctioned and unsanctioned tools, protection against sensitive data leakage, and real-time coaching to help employees use AI responsibly. Delivering these capabilities through FortiEndpoint gives customers a practical way to manage AI risk with the same agent and licence they already rely on for endpoint security.”
FortiEndpoint AI Security Availability
The new FortiEndpoint AI security enhancements are expected to be available during Q3 (July–September) 2026. For more information, visit here.
The company has also published additional technical resources, including a blog and webinar, that explain how organisations can use FortiEndpoint to securely adopt AI, protect sensitive information, reduce endpoint risk, and simplify security operations.
