GOLFZON Tour Season 3 Combines Indoor Golf, Real-Time Tech and a $300,000 Championship Purse
Simulator Golf Continues Its High-Tech Evolution
Chantilly, Va. – GOLFZON has opened facility registration for Season 3 of the GOLFZON Tour, introducing a larger prize pool, a redesigned tournament structure, and expanded use of real-time competition technology.
The global golf simulator company says the updated season format was developed using feedback from players and facilities following the strong growth of last year’s competition, which featured more than 1,000 participants across 72 locations.
As indoor golf continues to grow worldwide, the latest season highlights how sports technology, live analytics, and connected competition platforms are reshaping the modern golf experience. For many tech enthusiasts and cybersecurity professionals, the rise of simulator golf feels increasingly similar to esports, where performance data, low-latency systems, and live scoring drive the action.
Fall-to-Winter Schedule Aligns With Indoor Golf Demand
GOLFZON has shifted the Tour to a fall-to-winter format to better align with peak indoor golf season. The company believes the change will improve accessibility for players while increasing participation throughout colder months.
Individual Qualifying Begins in September
Season 3 begins with individual qualifying rounds in September. Players will compete at their home facilities, with top performers advancing to form four-person teams.
Team Competition Expands Through Network Play
Team qualifying starts in October and will feature multiple tournaments using cumulative scoring. The top 64 teams will advance to bracket play.
The highest-scoring team will receive four tickets to the Champions Pavilion at the 2027 U.S. Open, along with a VIP behind-the-ropes experience and exclusive tour access.
Beginning in November, teams will compete in single-elimination matches through GOLFZON’s network play system, allowing real-time head-to-head simulator competition between remote locations.
The Tour Finals will take place during the 2027 PGA Show. In addition, the Finals MVP will receive two tickets to the 2027 U.S. Open Champions Pavilion.
Bigger Prize Pool Raises the Stakes for Competitors
GOLFZON says Season 3 will feature the largest championship purse in Tour history, with a total prize pool of $300,000.
First Place Team Takes Home $200,000
The updated payout structure includes:
- $200,000 for first place
- $60,000 for second place
- $20,000 for each semifinalist
The competition will also include a separate $20,000 purse for individual qualifying rounds.
According to GOLFZON, additional rewards and exclusive golf experiences will be available for both participants and operators throughout the season.
Sean Pyun said the Tour has seen significant momentum since its launch.
“The growth of the GOLFZON Tour in Season Two compared to the inaugural season was palpable,” said Pyun. “With increased participation in indoor golf competitions and valuable player feedback shaping the season, we believe Season 3 will be the most competitive and popular version of the Tour yet.”
Golf Simulation Technology Powers the Competition
All tournament rounds will be played using GOLFZON’s TwoVisionNX and TwoVision simulator systems.
Advanced Tracking Systems Deliver Precision Data
The simulators use advanced camera systems to measure launch angle, spin rate, ball speed, and club path with high precision. The systems are designed to replicate real-world playing conditions while delivering detailed performance analytics.
For cybersecurity and technology audiences, the setup mirrors the growing importance of real-time telemetry and data processing seen across connected industries.
Motion Plate Technology Replicates Real Golf Conditions
GOLFZON’s Motion Plate technology allows players to hit from up to 56,000 different lie conditions, helping simulate uneven terrain and realistic course environments.
Competitors will also play on digitally recreated versions of well-known golf courses, including Pebble Beach.
Throughout the season, live scoring will be powered by Golf Genius. In addition, an official apparel partner will provide custom uniforms for the 64 teams that advance to bracket play.
Indoor Golf and Connected Sports Continue to Grow
Now entering its third year, the GOLFZON Tour continues to position simulator golf as a scalable, year-round competitive platform that blends sports, gaming, and technology.
The company has expanded aggressively in North America through partnerships with Troon and golf instructor David Leadbetter. GOLFZON is also the official simulator partner of both the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open.
As connected sports technology continues to evolve, simulator golf is quickly becoming more than a training tool. It is increasingly operating as a global competitive platform built around analytics, immersive systems, and live digital competition.
